In carrying out its main task, the Library needs to align with the Vision and Mission Tarumanagara University. As has been formulated, Vision Tarumanagara University is "To become a recognized university excellence in the country and accounted for in the regional arena".
While the mission there are four things, namely: First, carry out education to produce graduates who are virtuous. Second, implement learning to produce graduates who master science, technology and art. Third, carry out training to produce skilled graduates. The fourth way is to try and rekacipta findings in science, technology and art through research and design.
Relating to the duties and responsibilities of the University Library Tarumanagara then chose the motto 'Pro Excelentia Academia'.
The meaning of the motto means 'to support the creation of excellence campuses' or 'for campus excellence'.
The idea and the spirit embodied in the motto is aligned with the Vision and Mission Tarumanagara University. The hope, in order to be able to play aktifemberikan Library optimal contribution to realize the vision and mission in question.
Along with meningkatnnya needs of the scientific information and the rapid development of science and technology, the Library continues to develop themselves and strive to improve the quality of its services. In connection with these efforts, the Library has received full support from the Computer Center (Puskom) Tarumanagara University.
Puskom has managed to create and develop your own application programs Tarumanagara University Library Information System (SIP Untar). Development programs continue to be made. 9 September 2004 is noteworthy as the first step Libraries 'on line'. Although the present data is still relatively limited catalog, the Library began to date has been able to be accessed through the web site Tarumanagara University (www.tarumanagara.ac.id
